Christmas day at home

Here is a video of Jenny discovering that Santa came to bring her toys.
Check out that hair!!!
Watch her kick Dora to the curb so that she can get into that fancy chair herself.

This year we were so excited to have some portion of Christmas in our own home. It was so nice to be home on Christmas morning, and of course we were tickled to see Jenny's reaction to her goodies from Santa.
Santa left Jenny a Dora tent and Dora dolly, a dolly with open/shut eyes and doll bed, tea set, Lady and the Tramp big picture book, and a fancy red checked chair with her name on it from Pottery Barn---(worth every penny!).
Jenny loves it when she finds Dee sitting in her chair or hiding in her tent.
I catch her doing the cutest things in her tent like brushing Dora's hair (there is nothing to brush), or brushing Dee's hair, or giving her dolly a bottle, or giving Dee a bottle. Or pouring Dee a cup of tea.
After about 2 hours with the new toys, Jenny went into wild monkey mode....getting into everything that she is not supposed to. So we hooked her up to the DVD's and she sat in her new chair while we got party food ready. Will's mom, dad and sister came at lunchtime and we had a good time munching, opening gifts and chilling out. Jenny got lots of toys from them of course. Sit and spin, hot wheels, dress up gear, books, ballerina outfit for her teddy bear, magnets.... and the list goes on. By the end of the day it looked like a tornado hit Toys R Us in here. And we still had one more grandma to go visit the next day!

Christmas Eve at Granny's

Okay so I have been not blogging for a couple weeks and I know that is so uncool.
I don't have to remind anybody how hectic December is, combined with a few days here and there of progesterone poisoning......I think my blog break was justified, that is my point.

But on to the more important things: pictures of Jenny. I know that none of you really care to actually read the blog, just come to see pictures of Jenny. Ha ha just kidding!

Christmas Eve we spent the day in AL at Granny's house. That is Will's Mawmaw, and Will's father's side of the family. A total of 3 munchkins currently running around there. The quarters are getting tight.... so either we've got to bust down some walls in Granny's house, or stop having kids. ha ha!

Granny got a microwave for Christmas --
Here Brayden is showing Jenny and Parker how it's done
(Brayden and Parker are Will's cousin's boys)

Having great fun in the microwave box with Parker
You bet that the box was just as fun as all the toys they received

Got a dolly stroller!!!!

Ooh la la!
I had to post this because when he is older he will hate this picture!!!

"I am so whooped-- I don't think I can open another one!"

Learning about more boy toys

Granny got me a horsey scooter with a special seat for my new Cabbage patch dolly!

The Christopher's Annual "Toy We Want To Trash"
I'll have to write a short note about the "toy of the year" at Granny's. There always seems to be this one toy that is usually given to Brayden..... that he loves and all the adults soon learn to hate! In previous years Will was guilty of picking out that special toy (sword, flashlight etc.) but this year it was Nina who gave Brayden the....... dart gun!
Needless to say we were all taking cover and the afternoon resulted in a black eye for Brayden. But in Nina's defense they were foam darts, they just packed a serious punch---but how could she have known??

After all the partying, we headed directly to Uncle Wesley's house to say hi and let Jenny open a gift. On that 10 minute ride, Jenny was so ready to conk out. We fought hard to keep her going. At one point I was vigorously shaking her leg and she was unresponsive. Then I started to tickle her leg and she was smiling and giggling in her sleep. Let me be clear that I have NEVER tried to keep that child awake! ha ha Anytime before this that she wanted to sleep I was saying thank GOD. We got a big kick out of her being so pooped. But she managed to kick it up a notch and make it thru a quick visit at Wesley's. They gave her a kissing Elmo, but also she would have gladly taken home their deer that was mounted to the wall.

Then we picked up Hank and said bye bye to Phi Phi, Pop Pop and Nina. Jenny napped on the way home but was awake for the last hour. So therefore I couldn't plop her into bed as soon as we got home. Besides she had to eat. So we got home at 9pm and I officially began "lights out" at 10:30 ---but girlfriend refused to go down until 12:15! At that point I was so so so whooped myself that I could hardly finish "Santa" duties. Ordinarily the night time is the right time for me but my bun in the oven was sedating me hard on that night.

Broke Down Momma

Well, I have been MIA huh?
Here is what the last ten days held for me if you are unaware:
On the 6th, while drying my hair, I had some sort of back spasm or like we say in this neck of the woods: my back "went out." For real I was a crippled thang for about 10 hours. From about 10am until 4pm Jenny enjoyed running wild ha ha(excluding her 3 hour daily nap in the middle)(which is always a gift from God). Then Will rescued me. Then my mother in law rescued me again by coming at 8pm to help with Jenny. (Will had to work the next day) The next day, Sunday, I was able to walk upright and drive and have made a 100% recovery since then. Also on Sunday Phillis left with Jenny for a previously planned 3 day"trip to grandmas"-- that was perfect timing so that I could heal up and not be toting Jenny all day.
I have been to the chiropractor and have decided to keep going regularly at least during this pregnancy.

Well as soon as my back was all better I started up having morning sickness or as I like to call it "progesterone poisoning".
Ha I am just so glad that this didn't happen until my back was all better!! Can't even fathom the agony of heaving over the toilet with bad back pain!!!

This nausea has only been an issue for 2 days thus far-- and so I am still holding out hope that when the accompanying headache dies out, then the puke-fest will follow suit.
That is how it all went down with Jenny "in the oven," so I'm hoping for the same scenario. A girl can dream can't she??

Jenny has been enjoying an extra dose of DVD exposure and I've been chilling on the couch ruling the roost from there.
Somehow I talked myself into Sunday school, but we had to leave before worship time and go home.
I'm feeling pretty good tonight, so lets hope that it sticks.

Jenny will be a big sister

Well, as some of you know already, we are expecting another baby! We found out on Saturday. We had just decided to start to think about maybe just maybe considering another baby. heh heh
It took a long while before the Jenny bun was in the oven, but we did not have to wait long this time! ha ha
Even though this baby is not a "surprise".....well we are still surprised.

Among other signals, some of my first signals that I was pregnant this time were:
  • peeing more in the middle of the night,
  • my dreams...... were just different,
  • and also-- having here and there the signature "run over by truck" feeling.
I would say "ROBT" feeling is similar to when people say that they "slept too hard", but with a twist of flu feeling.
You might think the dream thing is bogus, but I vow that when I am pregnant my dream life is just different. I think it has to do with the extra hormones in your body.

I took a test at 5am on Saturday the 29th right after Will left for work.
Let me stress that I ALWAYS go back to sleep when he leaves at 5am. Jenny wakes me up sometime between 7:30-9:30. At 5am, I wish I could be a "sit and sip coffee and read the bible" kind of person or a "get my workout in" kind of person. But no, I'm a "sleep sleep sleep sleep for the love of sleep" kind of person. Anyway I digress.
For those of you unaware, the EPT people "recommend" using your first morning pee for the test cause it is considered "potent" --full of the prego hormone.
(let me add at this time my comments on that ??!!*@%&#* ----when a woman is newly pregnant, then often she is peeing 3 times in the middle of the night and that would be a sign for her to go buy the EPT. then these EPT people are thinking that we've been holding our pee all night?? I was wondering if any of the people working at EPT are mothers....)
So I am standing there in the bathroom, needing to go and wanting to know the answer, but thinking:
"what if... by a slim chance the test is positive? then I'll have to hold in the secret all day til 6:30pm when Will gets home. Also I'll definitely not be able to go back to sleep.....I should just wait til right before he comes home from work..........NAH no way its positive."
I decided to not waste the precious "morning pee". I was only 2 days late and so every little smidge of prego hormone in that pee had to count.
Well lo and behold it was a big plus sign right away! I probably stared into the oblivion for eternity after that, and as I predicted I could NOT go to sleep. Not even later at nap time which is just huge for me. (I know I am in such a heap of trouble with another baby coming---big nap lover).
I went to peek at Jenny in her bed and wondered how much my next child would look like her. I tried to imagine her as a big sis. I whispered "there's a baaaaybeee on the way!" and "get ready to be kicked out of your crib" ha ha. But since she was asleep, Hank and Dee got to be the first to know the news. You bet that they were elated.
I sent Will a text that I had a surprise for him. That is an ongoing inside joke--long story short, before the baby news Will said that I stink at surprises. He kept telling me I had to redeem myself due to several big let downs ha ha. Well he said that I am off the hook, that the baby is a pretty big surprise!
I told him right when he got in the door before he even had his jacket off.
I guess the good Lord thinks we are ready for another one. We'll see. Its looking like Jenny will be about 24 months old when this one is born. (I suspect a due date in August) If all my hair falls out.... or maybe if I pull it out....well then, I've always been told that I am a hat person at least.

I will go to the doc on Dec. 9th. I currently feel pretty good and have no complaints.

I'm writing a letter to Santa today and I didn't feel that it was too early to ask for no colic this go round. ha ha
